Services Offered By PET CARE

The PET Care Registry is a registry maintained by the American Society for the prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASCA). This register contains information about the history and registration status of all animals in the PET Care Registry including humans. Each pet in the register has been thoroughly checked and verified to be free of contagious diseases. Registration is done after careful assessment to ensure that all the requirements of registration are met including age, standard of care, vaccinations and health records. Information about the animal and the owner is also recorded including contact details.

Registration of pets ensures: their own animal welfare and well being and thus promotes better care by owners as well as by other PET Care Professionals. It also provides a perfect platform for those who work in pet care to promote themselves to prospective clients. However, the work of PET Sitters is far from easy. There are many tasks to perform while on a pet sitter’s shift, including the following.

Pet sitting for holidays and other special occasions: Many people love to take their pets with them on vacations and holidays and thus they leave their pets at home. Such owners may not be able to take their pets with them on public transport or bus stops hence they invariably leave their pets at home. In such circumstances, a PET Care Sitter will come to their assistance. However, it is the responsibility of the pet sitting service to screen their sitters so that no untoward incident takes place.

Training dogs: Training dogs is one of the most important tasks for the success of a PET Care Sitter. Many owners hire pet sitters to take care of their dogs during special occasions such as holidays. The dogs should be trained to behave properly and should not get out of control. For instance, on holidays when people go for picnics, some of them may forget that they shouldn’t walk their dog on roads.

Fetching: A lot of people love to take their cats and dogs on picnics and even on holiday trips but they forget to teach their pets how to fetch. Training a dog or a cat to fetch ensures that they get back to where they belong – your lap! Therefore, before you leave with your pets, it is best to make sure that they have been trained to fetch and that they can fetch successfully without creating any problem at all.

Urination: Many people do not realize the hazards that pets can inflict on humans and hence they don’t train their pets for urinating outside the house. There are certain medications that can cause urine to leak out and this can in turn harm humans.

You should ensure that your dog or cat is adequately trained to use litter boxes outside the house.
